Band Members
When John Bon Jovi formed the band Bon Jovi in 1983, the band members were John Bon Jovi (lead singer), Ritchie Sambora (guitarist), David Bryan (keyboards), Tico Torres (drummer) and Alec John Such (bassist). In 1994, the first and only member change took place when Alec left the band.
As Alec has never been officially replaced, most official promo photos taken since 1995 have shown a 4 member band. However, when the band is on tour, or performing live on tv or at other events, Hugh McDonald, who has had a connection with the band since the beginning, is the bassist.

Although Hugh McDonald is not an official band member, he has been the only bassist since original bassist, Alec John Such, left the band in 1994.
Hugh has, actually, been associated with the band for many years and was one of the musicians who played on the original recording of "Runaway" before the band Bon Jovi even existed.
Hugh also toured with Jon and the Big Dogs during Jon's solo tour in support of "Destination Anywhere".
